As part of our commitment to support student entrepreneurs in Nigeria, every week, we would feature students from various Nigerian Universities as our Student Entrepreneur of the week.
Student Entrepreneur Of The Week
This week, we are featuring Valentine Offiah, a 400 level Student of Marine Science at The University of Lagos. Valentine is an IT Solutions provider on his campus and the founder of his business ‘Valfenix’.
In an exclusive Interview with him, he walks us step by step through his entrepreneurial Journey.
I have always loved anything tech-related. It fascinates me how different components are brought together and they function as a system and also writing programs that solve problems. Then, I realized that it can also be a lucrative form of business when people paid for my services.Valentine Offia
It’s true that there are many student entrepreneurs on many Nigerian Campuses, but the main challenge for these youngsters would be combining their education and their businesses. Here’s how Valentine is doing this:
I think it’s a regular factor that occurs all the time. I just plan further. Making a to-do list of my appointments and classes helps make it easier. Although, I have had times where I had to slog my way through it. One time, I had to write a program for a client while in class.Valentine Offiah
With Valentine, persistence is the key, as he points out that other budding entrepreneurs should do what they enjoy and have knowledge about. He also advised them to make research, work hard and employ smartness while planning ahead.
When he was asked to say a few words about Vasiti, he had this to say:
I think Vasiti is a platform that makes it easier for student entrepreneurs to meet and satisfy clients while making income. It’s a creative idea that brings clients closer to service providers. I love it.Valentine Offiah
