It is very sad to see our traditional rulers who are supposed to be custodian of tradition and good will perpetrating acts that are unjustifiable.
The latest of this is the Oluwo of Iwo who was suspended for six months by the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers. The reason for the suspension was because the Oluwo of Iwo allegedly disrespected the Alaafin of Oyo, Alake of Egba and Ooni of Ife.
However, in his words, the Oluwo of Iwo said he was suspended for having ‘swagger’ and being flashy. He laughed off the suspension and called it a joke. He revealed this in a post on his Instagram page on Friday.
The monarch debunked reports of his suspension saying it is subject to the approval of the Governor.
A committee headed by the Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun, was also constituted by the council to further investigate the matter involving Oluwo and the Iwo land.
