What is fashion? I know you don’t really need me to explain that, but hold on… Let me bask in my glory!
Fashion is an aesthetic expression in a certain time and context, especially in clothing, footwear, makeup, accessories, and hairstyle. You feel me?
Fashion is also a language which tells a story about a person who wears it. Fashion expresses who we really are. But the multimillion-dollar question is: what is really missing both in modern and vintage fashion?
Let’s dive right into it!
Let’s illustrate this, maybe you have an occasion or hangout to attend, you already have an outfit you wear it and slay it in your head but to wear it out on the streets is a problem. Can you relate?
That’s what we call lack of self-confidence and most people lack self-confidence when it comes to their mode of dressing and what other people might say or think about it.
But the most important thing to have in mind is ‘you rule the world’ because the truth is no matter what you wear some people may like it and others might dislike it. Besides, we should aim to make ourselves happy rather than seeking approval from people or rather than aiming to be a people pleaser.
Most people are not versatile in their style of dressing because they have grown too comfortable with one style.
Why change the style when you’ve got a style? Yes and this leads to one type of looking. Check this out, imagine a working-class lady whose everyday look to work is a pencil skirt, a top and blazer just because she is too rigid to try out other styles or she feels other types of clothing are not made for work. Guess what? Being versatile also means playing within the rules but in a different way. A pantsuit and a shirt will also fit just fine for work so also will a fanciful formal dress and heels. That won’t look bad, would it?
Being versatile is the most interesting part of dressing and styling
Do not Shop for what you don’t need at the moment, shop for what you’ll need and wear. Do not break your bank because of a particular outfit, if you can actually get it through a thrift market.
Fashion isn’t how expensive you are, fashion is how you look with the little you have. #word
So, I hope this has been helpful enough and will channel you to be better in your fashion feat and choices
